Internet subscribers in Vietnam now exceed a million

There are now 1.03 million Internet subscribers with a total of four million users in Vietnam, according to figures released by the Vietnam Network Information Centre (VNNIC). These latest statistics translate into a penetration rate of 4.9%.

The number of new Internet subscriptions in the first quarter of this year equaled the combined total of all the subscriptions of previous years.

Vietnam Post and Telecoms Corp. is the biggest provider of ISP services with a market share of 59.67%, followed by FPT Co. with 25.28%, Netnam with 6.42% and Saigon Postel, Viettel, OCI and Hanoi Telecom accounting for the remainder.
