| Basanta
Shrestha has a master’s degree in computer science from the Asian Institute of
Technology, Bangkok. He has wide experience in IT and has written extensively
on various aspects of ICT and its application in development. Notably, his pioneering
efforts in establishing geographic information systems in the region is outstanding.
He currently heads the Mountain Environment and Natural Information Systems Programme
