Masood | | Jamshed
Masood is an engineering graduate and has worked in the ICT sector since 1995,
focusing on regulatory and policy issues. He was part of the team that set up
the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority in 1995. He played an instrumental role
in enabling the introduction of the Internet in Pakistan in 1996. From 2000 to
2004, Jamshed worked extensively on IT and telecommunications policy restructuring
and reform. He was part of the team entrusted with implementing the IT policy
and action plan adopted by the government in 2000. He co-steered the process of
implementing the deregulation of the telecommuni-cations sector and formulating
the necessary enabling measures from early 2002. He has worked in the private
sector since August 2004 and set up a long-distance international (LDI) carrier
company. He recently moved to TCL, the largest private-sector integrated telecommunications
company in Pakistan to head its LDI operations. |  |
