Aimal Marjan | | Aimal
Marjan is the National IT Advisor to the Afghan Ministry of Communications, Afghanistan,
advising the ministry on areas such as ISP licensing, Internet exchanges, ccTLD
and general capacity-building issues. He is working on the establishment of the
National ICT Council of Afghanistan and the National Data Centre, as well as the
implementation of a pilot e-government system. Prior to joining the ministry,
he served as IT advisor to the director of the Afghan Assistance Coordination
Authority. He was the project manager of GDLN, a World Bank project, to network
government offices. Aimal is the founder and president of the Afghan Computer
Science Association. He is also a visiting faculty member of the Computer Science
Department, Kabul University. He helped set up the Computer Science Department
while serving as technical and academic advisor to the Islamic University for
Science and Technology, Jalalabad, Afghanistan. |
